The right toys, at the right time. Without the clutter, or the cost.
We're on a mission to make parenting simpler — starting with toys. Expert-chosen developmental kits for every stage of the first two years, from £15 a month. Outgrown kits come back to us: cleaned, renewed, passed on — and you get £5 back each time.
Everything a premium play kit gives you. Without the premium price, or the pile of plastic.
Chosen by toy designers and an occupational therapist
Every kit is put together by toy designers — each with a master's in toy design — working with a paediatric occupational therapist. They choose and arrange the right toys for each stage, so you never have to wonder what's right for your baby right now.
Comparable kits cost two to three times as much
Each kit is £50, less £5 back when you return the last one — about £15 a month for toddler kits and £22.50 for the youngest. The same developmental thinking and materials as the big names, at close to half the price.
The toys come back. Your home stays clear
When a kit is outgrown it returns to us — cleaned, renewed, passed to the next family. No cupboards filling with last month's toys. No landfill. £5 back each time.
Competitor prices shown are publicly listed UK kit prices and are for comparison only. Mirnest is not affiliated with any other brand.
We surveyed 225 UK parents about what makes the early years harder than they need to be.
A kit arrives. A kit goes back. Nothing piles up.
Tell us your baby's age
That's all we need. Every kit is matched to one of ten stages across the first two years.
Your kit arrives
Around seven well-made toys, a board book, and a printed playguide — everything for the next stage, nothing extra.
Play, at your pace
The guide shows you how each toy fits your baby's stage. Use what they love. Ignore the rest. Keep the kit as long as you need it.
Send it back, £5 off
Prepaid label in every box. The kit comes back to us, is cleaned and renewed, and goes on to the next family. You get £5 off your next kit.
The same good toys, loved by one family after another. That's the whole idea.
A small, complete set for your baby's stage — and nothing extra.
Each kit is built around where your baby is right now, then comes back to us when they've moved on. Explore exactly what's in each one further down.
5–7 toys, matched to the stage
A small, carefully chosen set of toys for exactly where your baby is — and nothing they're not ready for. Chosen by toy designers and a paediatric occupational therapist, so you never have to wonder what's right right now.
Books and cards to suit the age
Every kit includes the right reading and looking for the stage — high-contrast flashcards for tiny babies, and, from around seven months, a Mirnest board book written in-house and matched to your child's age.
A printed playguide, every time
A calm, twenty-page guide on how to use each item — with full permission to skip what your baby ignores. Mainly wood, fabric and board. Independently tested to UK toy safety standards (UKCA). No batteries, no screens, no noise.
Matched to your child's growth
Enter your child's birthdate and we'll recommend the perfect starting kit. Each stage is designed with occupational therapists around key developmental milestones.
From £15 a month. £5 back every time you return a kit.
No tiers, no contracts. Just the right kit for your baby's stage, arriving when they're ready for it.

What happens when a kit comes back.
Sharing toys between families only works if every kit arrives feeling like the first. Here is exactly what happens to every returned kit, every time.
1 · Inspected
Every item is checked piece by piece. Anything worn, marked, chipped or incomplete is pulled out and doesn't go back into circulation.
2 · Cleaned & sanitised
Wood is cleaned and treated. Fabric items are washed at high temperature. Every surface a baby touches or mouths is sanitised.
3 · Renewed
Books and playguides are replaced with fresh copies — never reused. Worn items are swapped for new before the kit goes anywhere.
4 · Repacked & checked again
The full kit is reassembled, given a final check against the original contents list, and sealed in fresh packaging.
If anything in your kit arrives less than perfect, tell us. We'll replace it — no photos demanded, no forms, no fuss.
support@mirnest.comSafe enough for your child. Considered enough for the planet.
Every kit is held to the same standard we'd want for our own children — and built so that good toys get a second life instead of a landfill.
Tested to UK safety standards
Independently tested to UKCA & EN71 for choking, materials and durability before any kit ships.
Cleaned & sanitised between families
Every returned kit is inspected piece by piece, cleaned and sanitised, and renewed before it goes to another family.
Materials we trust
FSC-certified beech & birch wood, fabric and board. Tested for chemical safety — no harmful substances. No batteries, no screens.
Built to circulate
Each kit is designed to be loved by several families in turn. Packaging is recyclable, and the toys keep going.
The things parents ask us first.
How clean are the returned toys, really?
Every returned item is inspected piece by piece, cleaned, and sanitised — wood treated, fabric washed at high temperature. Books and paper guides are never reused; you always receive fresh copies. Anything that doesn't pass inspection is removed from circulation. If something in your kit isn't right, we replace it without fuss.
Is returning a kit a hassle?
A prepaid return label comes in every box. Repack the toys, stick the label on, and drop it at your nearest collection point — or hand it to the courier when your next kit arrives. The £5 credit is applied automatically.
What if my baby falls in love with one of the toys?
Then it's doing its job. There's no fixed return deadline — keep the kit as long as your baby needs it. And if one toy has become the toy, tell us when you return the rest and we'll sort something out.
Do I have to return the kits?
No. Returning is always optional — it's how you collect the £5 credit and how the toys get a second life, but nothing is forced. Most families find they're glad to see the clutter go.
What exactly is in each kit?
Around five to seven toys matched to your baby's stage, plus a printed playguide that walks you through every item. From around seven months, kits also include a board book. No batteries, no screens. Materials are mainly wood, fabric and board, independently tested to UK toy safety standards (UKCA).
When will my first kit arrive?
First kits ship in August 2026. Founding members get first pick of launch stock, matched to the stage you tell us at pre-order. After that, a new kit arrives roughly every two months.
Can I cancel?
Anytime, with no minimum term. And your first kit carries a 14-day full refund guarantee — if it's not right for your family, send it back and we'll return every penny.
Who chooses the toys?
Each kit is put together by toy designers, each with a master's in toy design, working with a paediatric occupational therapist, and follows the developmental stages of the first two years. We choose a small number of well-made things over a large number of forgettable ones — that is the whole philosophy.
We started Mirnest after our second child, standing in a room full of toys nobody played with. Babies don't need more things. They need the right things, at the right time — and then those things should go on to the next family, not into a cupboard. That's the company.Parikshit Kumar, founder — London
